“...provide residential services to those students who are resident students...”
a) Residential Services (Demonstration School Component)
By definition, a student admitted to the Demonstration
School is also admitted to the Residential Services.
This is where an exceptionally devoted staff provide
a learning environment for students to gain confidence
and self-esteem, to better define their identity
through a variety of interpersonal experiences and
to further increase their skills in problem-solving,
especially those that are required by a learning
disabled in our challenging society.
b) Residential Services (Provincial School Component)
While there are some restrictions as to which
of the Provincial School’s students can or
cannot be admitted to the Residential Services,
it is intended
to our
deaf or hard of hearing students or some of our
deafblind students, who would benefit from an
environment
where LSQ is the prefered mode of communication.
All of
our current residential counselors use LSQ as their
primary mode of communication. Because of
the many
workshops and activities that are available, students
stand to benefit from a rich linguistic
environment
thus promoting the use of LSQ.
